A question about aero bars

Martin,

If you want to borrow a set of clip on tri-bars I've got two sets in the garage

In the end I didn't buy any. More thought on the subject required. Thanks anyway.

Depends on the make/model of handlebar, some are ok for clip-ons and some not. Check the manufacturers instructions/website

Not much, considering the first bars were copied from triathlons. TT positions tend to be slightly more aggressive (i.e. lower) than triathlon ones.

What's the difference, if any, between TT and triathlon aero bars? The reason I ask is that I've seen some Controltech triathlon clip-on aero bars for sale, and looking at their website they also make some for TTing. To use their own words 'the TT bars are derived from the triathlon clip on concept and designed for time trialers who like to adjust their front position and the angle to top'. As both sorts have exactly the same amount of adjustment I was wondering what the difference was. As these bars are in a sale a quick response would be appreciated.  A thought just came to me. Can anyone see any problems attaching carbon aero bars to a carbon handlebar?
