Some info for tomorrow's Beacon RCC Little Mountain TT:
HQ: Great Witley Village Hall
Course: 41 miles Great Witley, Martley, Lower Broadheath, Hallow, Holt Heath, Great Witley, Stanford Bridge, Stanford Bank, Clifton-upon-Teme, Shelsley Walsh, Stanford Bridge, Stanford Bank, Clifton-upon-Teme, Martley, Great Witley
First rider off at 8:23, last rider off at 10:00am
- The road surface on the new bit that that goes past shelsley walsh is quite rough with lots of gravel on the road. Not a tt for superlight weight tubs.
- Stanford bank is noticeably steeper the second time round. Be a good place to watch the race though.
- Despite not using Ankerdine the new course is every bit as challenging as the old one. I would think times will be slower on the new course, but not by much.
St Johns usually have quite a few enter this event, It's my favourite tt of the year and I'll be entering again this year.
Just about managed to get wife on board to give me pass out for original course but now i have pb target time to attack - think its going to be family easter weekend away for me. I think this course is actually harder than the original as you will get no rest for the 2nd climb up stamford - good luck to all who enter im sure it will be a great event.
I'll will enter the little mountain tt again this year, it's got to be one of the best tt's in the country.. shame there is no Ankerdine this year though, wont be quite the same without it.
I'll do it on a tt bike, the only bit of the course I have really wished I was on a road bike is Ankerdine and that's gone so it has to be tt bike for me.
I think I might have a crack at the Beacon RC Little Mountain Time Trial on April 24th. Will probably go for the Roadman prize (road bike, no tri-bars, no silly helmets or wheels) and it would be good to get as many WSJ riders as possible for this local 'Classic'.
Now you guys have me worried about dates- The last email confirmation i had with the tt organising sec stated that our SPOCO event would be on the 18th June and not as listed below on the 25th June- can anyone confirm what has been printed in the hand book as this could cause an issue - i have organised time keepers and hall for 18th -
It's £5 for an individual who is not a member of a club that has entered, so if you were outside the Midland region but wanted to participate, or your club was too stingey to enter
Martin, the club entered the series last year and paid the £10 (I presume we'll be doing the same again?) but I'm slightly confused on one point - is a separate £5 fee payable by individual riders to enter the series in addition to the entry fee for each event even if they are a member of a club which has paid the £10 entry?
I won't be at the Committee meeting next week, but perhaps you can confirm at the meeting that the club is to enter the SPOCO series again this year and let me know.
