Shame they presented the prizes before they double checked the data really.. My friends Kat and Charlotte did an awesome ride and were first team home but the organisers rushed the presentations and before data was double checked they gave the prize, and the glory, to team spend a penny who were actually 9 laps down!
Good luck Dave, sorry I won't be there to cheer you on, it sounds like a great event. I'm sure you'll acquit yourself (and the club) well. Seeing the picture you've attached I trust you'll be ditching the trainers for race shoes and cleats, and will be getting the skinsuit and aero-helmet on.....
3 hour road race for penny farthings! Starts 2pm Sunday.
If anyone is looking for a day out come along and cheer me on as I try and win! Get to Knutsford early though as it's estimated that 6000 people will be packed around the mile long circuit to watch 50 penny farthings fight it out to win the race which is only held once every 10 years!
It would be great to see some St Johns tops in the crowd, I will be racing in mine.
