RE: WNTB 01/09/10

Rob,
I will have to in future explian to newcomers wether they are old hands or not what is going on,because as you rightly say it disrupts the session. Although to be fair last night was by far the worst night for it.

Was a bit perplexed after 2 laps of Hatfield last night - one each way - when I couldn't find you all, there was another guy who appeared to be looking as well (not sure who as he wasn't a face I knew).

Sorry I didn't make it around the last lap, my right pedal took the moment I put in an effort to Wadborough to breath its last gasp - should have known really it's been sounding rough for ages.
Some grease and new bearings should see it back to full health though!!

I think the pace needs to be a bit more even for everyone to gain maximum benefit though, attacks on anything but the last lap should really be discouraged if at all possible.

When we were rolling through on the front everything was far more comfortable, the odd sharp injections of pace tended to disrupt the group. The smoother we riding inevitably results in a faster pace for everyone.
May be worth just spending 1 or 2 laps just getting everyone rolling through and off just so those less experienced of group training get a full appreciation.

Another excellent WNTB!  I think the best yet?
Weather was perfect, warm, bright and still.
12 riders turned up with 4 new to us.
Pace was fast with Dave Walker constantly throwing in attacks, but everyone stayed together at least until the last half lap.Vince winning the finishing sprint.
My apologies go to anyone who went to the Hatfield circuit as it was actually the wadborough circuit we were using and I had got mixed up.
Finally Maz Day - lets see you on the bike next time not walking the dog,you know it makes sense!
