When its finished the Wyre Forest club are in charge of running it I think. I think it can be booked through Dave Prior at Wyre Forest, maybe St Johns could book it one evening? Fantastic for beginners to learn how to corner fast (and maybe some of you tester's too!!) and also completely safe for kids.

Sorry that was me, I forgot to Log in

About 10m of top surface of tarmac missing after the machine broke down on Friday afternoon. They need to finish off the landscaping and grass areas still to be done to tidy it up a bit. It helps when you know the contractor wink.gif

Message fro David Prior (Wyre Forest CRC)

The work to the sports village is now starting and the first 2 projects are the extensions to Stourport Sports Club (SSC) and the cycling circuit. We have been advised to expect the circuit to be ready in March 2010, but this may be subject to weather conditions during construction of course.
The set up at the village is that a number of sports clubs plus the local authority and High School are represented on a management board; the cycling will also have a sub committee at least in the first year. Yesterday I had an email from SCC to advise that the first meeting is likely around Christmas and until then we do not know the exact format for booking and usage. However we understand that we, Wyre Forest CRC, make all the bookings for usage whether it is events organised by us or other clubs.
Already I have had a good response from various parties for events and will be in touch with everyone as we get brought up to speed by the management board, so please bear with us until we have been to the first board meeting.

ps: Worcester St Johns CC was my first club in the 60's and at various times I held the posts of Racing Sec, Press Sec, and General Sec, plus running the club mag which came out roughly quarterly. The top riders were Ramin and Makin Minovi and Mike Morris and the Evening News RR a Star Trophy event with the countries top riders. There would be over a hundred spectators on the climb of Ankerdine (done 3 times) and a crowd of several thousand at the finish outside Berrows Newspapers where the road was closed - great times.

The circuit is definately happening and will be available to be booked by all clubs.
All bookings and enquiries must go to Dave Prior of Wyre Forest CRC he can be contacted at davidp@crossbank.org although he is away on holiday for the next 2 weeks. Great news for local racing and will be suitable for adult and youth races.

Well if think they are starting next week they need to move some Equipment on the site.
Although they finished the club house for the 2nd time! the first one was burnt down.
Could have some lumps in it as they have been putting some quite large banks in over he last 2 years. (might be the golf though)

Did you know work is due to start on a 1.5 km 6m wide cycle track at Stouport Sports Centre today?
Due to be finished by February - looks like we will have a nearby facility for kids to go racing
I guess 6 m wide enough for adults as well?
I wonder if our club will be allowed to hire it?

Anyone know any more?
