Went up to see Simon at Selly Oak hospital yesterday. He is now able to have general visitors, anybody wishing to visit him should try and go between 2.30 and 4.30 as his family visit in the evening, and there is a 3 person limit. He is on ward S4 at selyoak hospital, the rehabilitation centre. He has had his pelvis plated and pinned and is now moving his legs. Fingers crossed he is now well and truly on the mend. He is waiting for the surgeon to sign him off, and he will then be transferred back down to Worcester, hopefully next week.

Spoke with Simon today, they have moved him up to Selly Oak,ready for his operation on Monday. If all goes well with the operation he will then be transfered back to worcester on wednesday.
Spoke to Simons Father again today (9/9/09)for an update. He is now out of intensive care and once again lucid. He is in good spirits, keeping his chin up!,as are his family. Today he was having his knee pinned so that they can put him in traction to align his pelvis. The internal bleeding has stopped. He still dosent know when he will be going to selly oak for the pelvis opreation. As you can appreciate he will not be having any visitors for a while, but as soon its OK he will let us know so that we can make arrangements. I have passed on our best wishes and told him that we are all thinking of him.

Thanks for the update Tony could you pass on my best wishes to him via his mum and dad.Tell him Saskatoon, Canada is a good place for a long bike ride when he's ready..Best Regards Stu.
I spoke briefly with his father today (7/9/9) and Simon is still very poorly. He has a broken pelvis, cracked collar bone and a twisted bladder. on top of this he has intermittent internal bleeding. He is still in intensive care at Worcester, and will probably be moved to Selly Oak within a few days to be operated on. At this point he is, I believe, only allowed family visitors.
Does anyone have an update on Simon, have not heard anything on how serious the accident was and just hope that he recovers fully soon. We all dread to hear of cycling accidents and when you know the person involved it really hits home. Look forward to seeing him back on the bike again soon too.
I have just learned about simon's accident and injuries and as i'm over in canada i am unable to visit him in Hospital so i thought i would post it on the forum. Hope all goes well with the operation and you get back on the bike soon all the best simon.
