I think we have an open TT for 2008, see Martin Staines.
The VC Sevale ended their own hill climb to do the joint one with us (didnt they?)
I think a 19.5 league and a 10 league are good ideas but should be best placing in 80% of available events in the season eg best 10 10s and best 4 19.5 (the low gear must be ridden on 66" gear or lower) or similar.
I thought it was agreed that we would award a trophy for best track points.  It should have gone to Dan Staines  for 2007.

I am all for awarding the trophies rather than have them sit in a loft and get forgotten.
I hope the Charlie Grieg trophy will be awarded for the open 10 and we must get in touch with Bill (Charlies brother to come and award it as in previous years)
Happy Christmas see you all fit and well for the Boxing Day 10
Rick

Fixed/single free wheel league (if run 2008)

Counting events
April 29th      Old hills         10
May 13th       Broadheath     5? (not sure on this one)
May 20th       Ketch           19.5 (only one not a trophy)
June 3rd        Norton         10
June 17th      Spetchley      10
July 8th         Bransford      14 Hillyweirdface(for fun? not sure i'd ride it. biggrin)

Tried to keep this away from holiday times
or
BAR style fastest 3 times from any Club 10 mile TT + 1 off 19.5mile TT

10 mile league

Track as recorded by FNTL for 2008
Cross as recorded WMCL 2007/8 league? looks like it's joe's!

Might be a mad idea but didn't the sevale hold a hill climb on Green street malvern? how about a hill climb trophy? not one i'll ever get LOL
Green street - Sevale
Ankerdine   Joint
Wyre forest (back of abberly)

Also we no longer run a TT (for what ever decision) How about an open Hill Climb on Ankerdine or Clifton  or a 2 part open? less marshals required. Understand i am not volenteering as i have never run an event.

I'll raise it at the next committee meeting.
It might need somebody to volunteer to administer the various ideas.
I'd like to see the club points week by week on the website - like Track league - any chance Vince?

I think riding for a whole season on fixed or single free would be hard. But there are enough Track/ Fixed/free riders who might have ago plus after event one we could handicap it. or how about shortening it to a number courses.

Fastest time (BAR style) on a 19.5, Old hills, Clarkenleap/Norton, and Severn stoke? either specific nights or just one recorded time on each course?

Best 5/8/x places over a year?

which ever is easier for the timekeepers\ handcappers? but his view would be a good guide.

The Cross trophy might end up on Joe's shelf this year but could spur a few more people to ride.

Discuss as if this goes to Committee i want a specific suggestion/s that can be voted on.

LVRC ....YES

Problem is they don't have a points system, so you would have to submit a list of your places and Some races are not even listed on their web site. But as you say a good idea as there are alot eligable to ride them.

What about a trophy for LVRC points/places/wins . As most members are of or above a certain age it would be good. I`ll have to wait a couple of years yet though!!  biggrin

Yeah, best three 10's could be good, not sure I would want to do a whole season on fixed but I'd be tempted to have a go at a few....

Great idea mark, get those old trophys used !

Defo need a track trophy and track league points is probably the best way to win it as all ages get points.

I like the idea of a fixed tt trophy too, although the hilly would be very tough. furious Maybe 3 quickest 10's or somthing............

Put it to the commitee !

I know that i have missed the boat for the 2008 season as the AGM has gone but i thought i would run this poll for next years AGM. Unless the committee can ratify the changes before the start of this season. or the officials and club make the decision to run the competions and award for this year after the formalities of the AGM.

The ones with the best support to be put forward.

I believe that the club has a few trophies no longer awarded. so i was thinking that we could find a competion for them.
Some Ideas (as i have no idea how many trophies we have available)

1,    A season long Fixed/Singlespeed Points trophy (Club TT's)
2,    A Track and A Cyclocross Points Trophy. Awarded to the person gaining         the most points in their respective Age/ability band (U12-Youth-women A         cat- B cat etc) as published at the end of the season by the West Mids             Cross and Halesowen FNTL leagues (same as RR points comp)
3,    A 19.5 League best 3 Places winning it
4,    A 10 Mile League as above.
5,    A Trophy for the best placings (in band) for the national sporting courses      series not sure if any one rides this though

More ideas welcome
