Si, sorry I asked again last week and they say they are full up. Next time I'm there I'll find about hire for the club and see if we can get a crowd together.
I went again last night for the 8 to 930 session run by Newport Phoenix. They would be happy to host a few of us, so I'll try and fix something up in the new year. They do Wednesday nights and I leave Worcester at about 1815. I lost a contact lens in the middle session so had to get off, miraculously I found it at the start of the next session shrivelled at the bottom of the track. A bit of spit and a poke in the eye and I was back on again. It would suit road racers who are used to getting right on the wheel in front, I don't have the knack yet and end up working too hard and getting tired out. Or I might just be too old and unfit?
Id be interested, Vince scares a bit easy these days but im sure we can pursuade him Ive ridden Manchester a few times and it really is good fun suitable for all ages, abilitys and fitness levels! Be good to get a few down for a club session and get some photos for the site.
I have been for a couple of sessions on the indoor velodrome and have really enjoyed them. I have a contact there and wouldn't mind arranging a club evening there if we can generate enough interest. If anyone has got email addresses for likely participants, then maybe you could mail this on to them. It costs £6 for bike hire, but I would have to look at the other costs depending on how many go etc. I pay £4 for an hour and a half with the local club, but I don't think they could accomodate more than 3 or 4 extras. You have to have a little track riding etiquette lesson from one of the trainers before you can go on, but it was easy. You can't take road bikes, but the hire ones are OK. It's all fixed wheels and no brakes!
It's about 64 miles from Worcester and the facilities are really good.
Anyway if enough people are interested I'll look in to it a bit deeper
