Yes I did wear two pairs of shorts, I did suffer and wish I had used more lubrication in the shorts as I had trouble walking today, but boy do I feel good about this unexpected win. Sadly I was over 4mins slower than the last time I won the shield, but hey beggars are not choosers. sean
I'm reliably informed that fast low gear people concentrate on pedalling fast and slow low gear people concentrate on making up excuses for going slow. So was Simon Garrett wearing two pairs of padded shorts? Did Gerry Nicholls drill his legs out to make them lighter for the event? Clearly Sean Dyson had the winning recipe and will sell you his secret so you can use it in next years competition. Would you prefer a 10 mile low gear event?
