I doubt you'll be too slow and you don't know until you've tried. It's easier to push yourself in a group and as we are only doing 20 - 30 miles you should be fine.
I can't come to the Old Bridge this Saturday, however, as I've got a visitor with me. We are going for a ride, though, starting from Hanley Swan, and you are welcome to join us. My friend isn't that fast, however, so we'll probably do a 13 - 14 mph leisure ride. If you fancy coming along, drop me a line on irmgard _ tischner @ yahoo.co.uk (obviously closing the gaps in the email address). I can give you directions to my house then.
Shall we try and get a medium speed group going from 8th October, 10.30 am at the bridge?
If there is anybody else out there who would want to do a similar regular training ride at a slower pace (average of 16 - 18 mph?) I'd be up for it (from Sat 24th) - and we could always 'borrow' Mark's routes...
What: Saturday morning group training rides. 25-30 miles at a steady pace (18-20 mph) good to get some miles in but leaving plenty in the tank for the main Sunday bash or racing/cx. Those wanting more can do a 2nd lap!
