what if we just added it to our club time trials events, that might work, do you think?

I think it has the problem of looking like just a fun event but as you might have seen there was some serious riding, particularly the winner and Jon Gatiss Wild slugging it out with Adrian Guest getting within a quarter of a second of Jons best time.

I have seen a photo of Jon near the top and it looks like he is murdering his bike biggrin.

Insane uphill sprints rule [ fast twitchers apply here ] .

As fun as it was I'm not sure you will get too many people to do it as an open.. it's too short, even by English hill climb standards. What about an open hc from Welland to the beacon, using the start of your hilly course. I'd have a go at that.

It has been suggested that we run an open on the course next year, then allow the public to have a go after as a come and try it event..

What do people think? We could put some good prizes up, how many StJ's riders would pay a few quid for a go at it?

Yeah, big thanks to Bob, John, Graham and Mike from Sevale, heros one and all :)
And the Fringe for making it happen.
So next year we want to see a big gang cominng over from the St Johns club to try and beat Dave's time biggrin

The winner was Richard Pyne [ Army ] in 18.00  seconds, 2nd Jon Gatiss-Wild [ sometimes when he pays his subs Sevale ] 18.5 and 3rd Adrian Guest [unattached] 18.9  . he had about 12 goes ....

I now have to check all the results.. and post em on the website..... might take a while.

I made it all the way up Church street in 39 seconds, I don't think I'll be using the penny on Ankerdine though!

Thanks to Steve and the others from VC Sevale for an enjoyable day.

Awesome! I'll have a go on the penny farthing, I might need a push up the really steep bit at the end..
