The Tour Series' own web-site makes no mention of Tewkesbury's original slot as a host for the round on 1 June. There was report of some sort of fall out between promoters and that Tewkesbury was required to stump up more cash. Whatever the reasons behind the change, I think it's the promoters loss given the level of participation and support for cycling in this region.
The up-side is that our conundrum is now solved and there'll be a full turn out for the Hilly 14 on 1 June!
Tewkesbury is to host a round of the city centre Tour Series on Tuesday 1 June, not sure of the start time but it was early evening for each of the corresponding events last year. It was televised on ITV 4 last year and the top domestic teams raced (Rapha, Halfords, Candi TV etc).
It happens to coincide with our 14 mile hilly TT - wondered if there was any scope/support for running the TT on another evening that week to accommodate those who want to go and see the Tour Series event. Of course, there are other factors to take into account (insurance, police approval etc) and it may not be so simple to do, but if there is support and scope to do it perhaps it's something which could be discussed at the next Committee meeting.
