RE: Christmas bash on Norton TT -26th

Cancelled because of sheet ice in Pirton area (at the s-bend near Pirton Court). Some did their own dashes to Severn Stoke and back!

Some times I think I should keep my mouth shut! I suppose you will all expect me to ride tomorrow just to show how it is done (no overtaking is allowed and I am off number 1)!!!

Well I was mountain biking over Bredon, three hours in the saddle and great fun to boot!
It was about -5 at the top with a couple of inches of snow, but the air was that clear you could see for miles, absolutly breathtaking.

Vince
you went to the cross on sunday??

We went up to Wyre forest and walking was trecherous. The kids went down several times.

Still if i can get to a gritted road I'll be out.

Is everyone going soft - in 1981 there was 6 inches of snow on the A38 but we still went to the Railway at Ripple for lunch the week before Christmas and rode the boxing day 10 though I think most of the snow had cleard by then.

Myself and Dave W were either brave or just stupid for attempting to go out this morning for a usual Sunday ride. Fortunately we had a brain wave and decided we were better off by turning around and going home. This afternoon I again attempted to go out and went round to Pirton /Norton TT circuit Basically if the weather is anything like today on Saturday- we best all just go to the Ketch unless we all like meeting up in A&E confuse. My temp gauge was showing +2.5 but the roads were still 50% covered in ice. Hope the weather changes over the next few days so at least we can build up a thirst before going to the Ketch- although there doesnt look to be any let up. Hope to see a few of you on the 26th.

 Merry Christmas to you all.
