RE: Well...... sent me entry form in for Welsh 12hr.....

I was taking it seriously... honestsmile .... the aero helmet got ditched after 80 miles due to my neck getting sore.

The rack is going soon, and the thing is getting resprayed and new wheels for next season.......

I think it gave people a laugh...

The comment about me telling that guy to get a cuppa when he was struggling was not the whole story, he looked in a right mess when I caught up with him, I said get a brew in a few miles,  he looked at my bike and somehow found some extra energy and shot off past me again...... I stopped for a cup of tea, amazing stuff; the caffeine hit did the trick for me as I was flagging a bit at that time.

Still not sure what the 12 hour record for the Moulton is though... I am waiting confirmation for the Welsh to see whether I have got it for that event [ they weren't sure if it had been done before on that course..... ] biggrin

ahhhhhhhhhhh gutted mate.... 199. whatever is so frustrating... absolute flyer in the last 10 miles wasn't enough.
And the pain...... oh the pain biggrin

Will do it next year if I get chance, the rack is coming off and some alloy rims are going on, probably stick with the Sturmey 4 speed but will be looking for a close ratio set up, the wide was just silly, slog slog.... spinnnnnnn ......

My excuses this year.... self supported, a slightly torn muscle in my hip after 80 miles and not trying hard enough ............

Anyone fancy making up a team next year?

Anonymous, you're out of date, Andy Wilkinson did 302.46 miles at this years nat champs - that's 12 sub hour 25's back to back!
Steve - if you do more than 180 miles you're just as much a hero . . . .

Don't know what the 12 hour record is but someone has done lands end to john o'groats in 5days 8hours 15minutes on an original penny... He averaged 178miles per day! Good luck with your 12hour, when is it? I might come and watch a bit.

16.6mph = 200 miles...... that might just about be the limit on this bike I reckon. I have a back up team...... er well my daughter says she might help out anyway :) so hopefully I wont have to stop and make my own sarnies.

Realistically 175 is my initial goal, any more than that is is a bonus. I have done 216 on a proper normal bike but that was with a seriously bad back, at least I will be comfy on the Moultonbiggrin

What is the record for a penny then? It is not too late to enter....
